In the final chapter it talks about the increase in visual images in our culture. It's talk about the importance of students seeing different artwork and learn to connect those ideas with their own. We learn that the purpose behind the work matters. What is essential to art is what motivated the artist to create that. I think this is the whole point of art. They believe that visual culture should be included in art curriculum but also continue to constitute its core. The authors believe the purpose of a curriculum should be to focus on the processes of learning, having students use W.J.T. Mitchell's terminology, a set of critical tools for investigating art, the self, and the world. Teacher should let the student come up with their own meaning of the piece of art instead of telling the children what it is first. I think this is very critical with young kids and should be because this way it is opening their mind to perceive things in there own way without being wrong. This way they will learn to never be afraid to say what they see. All in all, visual culture and visual art you can learn so many thing about different historical things.
